About Tess
I was raised by two wonderfully creative parents in the wild and beautiful mountains of Santa Barbara. My mother is a chef and actress, my father is an artist and taught drama and humanities.
I studied the body in college, first as an artist in figure drawing classes, then as a biomedical science major, studying anatomy, physiology, nutrition, and pursuing a degree in Nursing.
I’ve always been an artist. I’ve been making prints for the past 16 years. I began teaching printmaking workshops because I couldn’t find a studio teaching the practice and decided to offer them myself.
I also love cooking. I learned to prepare food from my mother, catering endless events since childhood. I continued to learn by working in restaurants. Some of my favorite past jobs include The London Plane in Seattle, and Chez Panisse in Berkeley.
I find endless inspiration in my role as mother to my two magical children.
